Background and Management (KSS Projects for Communication)

"KSS Projects for Communication" is integrated with its first project "Symbolic-Numeric Computations for Computer Graphics" as of March 2015, and has been managed by two moderators. Please contact the corresponding moderator, Kosaku Nagasaka if you have a question on any of KSS Projects for Communication.

Management and Resources

Purpose

The organizers of KSS would like to organize some fundamental projects which may create an opportunity to have a discussion in KSS seminars, regardless of short-term/long-term and stage of project (i.e. preliminary discussions are also our interests). Especially we are interested in discussions on Computer Graphics and Film-making from a bit new viewpoints of Mathematics and Computer Science. In KSS Projects for Communication, other than organizing the projects, we would like to make some preliminary reference implementations and publicize them in KSS Articles for KSS Projects, for further discussions. Therefore, expanding and reviewing the results and resources (including programs) of the Studio Phones Fellowship Program are included in such trials.

Prehistory

Since Yusuke Kiriu (Studio Phones) in his film making, has been working with music, acoustics, clothing, image processing, furniture, architecture and 3D computer graphics, he has achieved some fundamental research results on computer which contributed in part to many researchers as the Studio Phones Fellowship Program. For example, in the former project: Symbolic-Numeric Computations for Computer Graphics, we were working for some preliminary implementations to have discussions in KSS seminar series with various specialists (especially with researchers). We noticed that such preliminary implementations have many intersections with other projects and decided to integrate the former project with KSS Projects.
