In KSS, we think it is very important that several sorts of specialists understand their own issues together and become to have their own networking contacts regardless of their specialty. We think that sorts of general academic or lecture meetings may not be appropriate for this goal. Therefore, we have started KSS and proposed a new kind of seminar style where we are able to have long discussions easier and have some practical sessions as occasion may demand.
It is also important to enrich the discussions, that we can easily access to the useful related documents (several sorts of academic materials, not limited to journal papers and so on). In fact, in general, any specialist may feel knowledgeless in other fields. They may become a just nonprofessional person outside their specific fields. However, on the other hand, if we can accept these situations and think them positive, sometimes such a fact (knowledgeless) may enrich and deepen the discussion whereunder we can have an academic discussion. KSS Article is the place where we try to build an environment for making these discussions easier.
This concept is not so new and in fact the predecessor of KSS, Studio Phones Seminar and Studio Phones Fellowship Program had a website giving such materials for discussions, called Entry Phones. KSS Articles can be considered as a successor of Entry Phones integrated into KSS, and we would like to make them more effective and useful.
In KSS Articles, we would like to broaden the targeted materials (other than that contributed by specialists) so that include, but not limited to some introductory documents contributed by students involved in KSS, some private surveys of academic documents to study other fields and so on, which would support and enrich the discussions in KSS. Consequently, there may be some materials that are not suitable for open access and should be used only in KSS. For those materials, after some considerable discussions, we would like to make them public under the authors' agreements. In the meantime, for enriching the discussions in KSS, we would like to gather materials that are not suitable for open access but may be useful for discussions in KSS.
For the participants of KSS, if you contribute us your materials, could you please contribute them in one of the following formats? Moreover, please make sure that you have all the copyright of the material before contributing.
We only publish the hyperlinks to your materials that are on your webpage or website.
We only locate the files including graphics and so on. Please note that we will add some hyperlinks into the header region (i.e. hyperlinks to the KSS seminar series). As for the style sheet, in general, please use the default stylesheet of KSS.
If you would like to embed some mathematical formulas, please embed them as images, or use MathJax.
It is possible that we publish the TeX files. However, we recommend the contributors to compile them into PDF files or to rewrite them in HTML with MathJax. Moreover, please tell us the license of your files, which will be noted along with your files.
Other formats (including PDF, Graphics and so on) are also possible to be published in KSS Articles. Please also tell us the license of your files, which will be noted along with your files.
For all the materials contributed to KSS Articles, we will upload them with the license on your demand. If you could contribute your materials, please let us know the license for your materials. If you do not have any specific license, we may use the following licenses.
